I like the old Smokey River blood. Cold nose, athletic and smart.

Sebastian/Smokey River. Really like the Upson blood as well. Have done very well crossing into it. It has alot of the old Smokey River blood.
I have three pups from Dennis Little Blue I am really looking forward to hunting.

I think you guys are on the right track and want to get one of the pups from notellum as well. I too have been crossing the Upson dogs with Smokey River and a dash of Clear River Diamond Jim with great results.
Adios,

Duece , I have two of the females out of Little Blue and Skipper. There are two males that my friends have and all are really nice pups.
Larry just sent his Upson's Rocky back to Michigan and Wisconsin, for studding. He throws awesome pups.

Are any of these lines of blues producing dogs with really good feet. By good I mean tight, tough, short and thick pad and toes that stand up to bad conditions (snow). Thanks, Terry

That is what I noted about the Upson dogs. They have really nice tight feet. The three pups from Little Blue are really nice and tight.
The male we have from Upson's Rocky are the best feet I have seen on a male.

John Ray bred hounds are what's in my kennel . Tried n seen a lot of others been around the blues since I was born 39 yrs ago n haven't found anything fit til the ray hounds. Johns kept these hounds to himself n a few others over the years. Bout 45 yrs. So there not as well known around the nation but if ur lookin for start to finish hounds that flat catch game u mite wanna give them a look. Im Very hard to please but these hounds have a place in my kennel.

Agree with Tbblue...Hunted with Junior woods and his blues from John Ray...cant get any better dogs with a cold nose than these...they are bear and cat catching machines..highly recommend them to anybody looking for good blues!
