Showing off my new Bluetick Female, Tayau

Postby lylachka » Wed Mar 28, 2012 6:22 pm

Hey Everyone,

I am new to coonhounds and just got a year old (ish) female I named Tayau. If anyone knows anyone in the Northern CA area that hunts, I'd love to come along. I don't really know anything about hunting but she was a hunting dog and I think she would love to come along. I can't vouch for how good she is since I don't know how well she was trained, but she sure is smart when it comes to listening to me.

I just wanted to show some pics and show her off a bit since I think she's one of the purdiest Bluetick ladies out there. :D

Any tips or advice for a new coonhound owner are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

*Quick edit, does anyone have any idea what bloodline she might come from? I've done some research but I don't have as good of eyes as you all.

Good looking, where did you get her? She looks like she could have came from one of my litters. By the way I bet there is gold in that red looking dirt on one of your pictures. Get a gold pan :beer

Haha! I might be out there panning, I could use some gold right about now. I'll check her paws real close after our walks. I got her off the side of the road in Virginia. Looks like she fell out of the back of someone's truck, she was unable to walk and all her back toenails were ripped out and her legs were cut open really bad. She was really skinny and crawling but I don't know how long she was out there. I put up signs and pictures around, and registered her with Animal Control but no one claimed her so she's mine now! We live in California now and I can't seem to find any other coonhounds out here.

Thanks for the compliments, I think she's awesome too! Just saw she has slobber on her muzzle in those pics. Whoops.

Hard to say with out looking at papers. But she kind of looks like a jet dog from Ed Mead. She might be a dandy coon hound if sombody worked with her in Virginia.
