Hey guys just a quick update, Brooke had her operation today and everything went well. Due date on the pups is Aug 9 th and i can hardly wait.lol One more thing guys i have been getting lots of pm and calls regarding selling some of the litter but at this time i don't plan on selling any pups. If she has a huge litter there will be some pups i'm sure i will look at getting into the hands of some hard hunters. But it must be on condition of constant communication with myself. As you well imagine the price to pull this togeather has been crazy and being in Canada only doubles it. One more thing i do have 2 more breedings left so if this does work out there maybe pups for sale at a later date.
regards bob

Do you have any pics of Spankey. I've only ever seen a couple.

Congrats.

just the stuff floating on the web, imo they don't do him any justice. I visit Dave Dean last yr and he has some awesome pics of ole spanky when he was in hunting shape.

Chancer,If you don't mind my asking.Did you have Spanky's semen implanted surgically or with syringe? With semen that old i would guess it was done surgically.

yup I had it done surgically, but Dave Dean uses a guy by the name of Dean Bitzel and he only does it with syringe and has good results as well.

Thank you.I know a man who bought some straws that were out of a son of old S.R.Diamond Jim.The vet did it surgically but used all his straws. He did get a nice litter and sold the pups for 500 apiece.I believe he lost money when it was all said and done but like he said he didn't do it for the money. He's a old bear hunter who loves that line of blues. What i'm getting at is it would be less expensive to use a syringe .I've read some stories on old Spanky,he was a good one.Good luck with your pups!

Yes doing anything with genetics is not cheap. IMO being in the U.S would be a whole lot easier and a whole lot cheaper. Been 2 yrs working to get this done and I hope its worth it. I am a huge fan of the Cameron line of blueticks and have 3 from Del and 3 from jim Harrell, but there are a few things I would like to improve on in the particular dogs I have. After lots of research and lots of time on the phone I decided that spanky was the out cross that I wanted and hope that this works lol. After a recount on the pups it looks like there was 11 in the litter and talking to Dave Dean he thinks that's the biggest litter ole Spanky has had through semen injection. So I am going to sell 4 or 5 pups just got to wait and see how the litter does.
