History of the Redbone?

Postby coontrac » Wed Jan 21, 2009 11:21 pm

I was just curious if some of you Redbone guys could give me some info on the history of this Breed where they originated what they were bred for etc. I have hunted with some guys in the past who used them and looking back they were a pretty good bunch of hounds well mannered and ready to go.
Thanks for any info. :D

If you want to know the history of hounds you can read it on my website. :) http://wyomingcoonhound.tripod.com/id27.html

The Redbone breed in particular came about from crossing the St. Hubert hounds to Irish Foxhounds.
I like my men like I like my mountains...... Rugged, challenging, and WILD!!!
