I realize this thread is old, with just one recent post. If these dogs are/were OW Hill stock, they're from his Sierra line, bear dogs bred to hunt in the mountains of California long before the recent ban. Being bear dogs, they never carried hunt titles, but OW loved to show them on the bench. Fine big game redbones that you hear about more than see these days. The Sierra blood that's out there is pretty diluted. I'm working to help restore that line and return it to the West. We have a very young male pupcicle from frozen semen out of GRCH 'PR' Sierra's Red Vindicator, a dog who's been gone quite a while. In time, we will breed him to one of our females that goes back to Sierra stock close up and get pups with parents and/or grandparents that go back to Vindicator, Queen, Peggy, Ace, Commando, Joe, Ranbler or others. Very nice dogs to look at, too. Should make excellent dual purpose hounds.
