Does anybody know of any dogs that are Hershberger bred? Just wondering if any of that blood is still around and available...
Thanks

Re: Hereshberger blood?
Ya it is like the Nance blood if it is anywhere in a 300 gen ped then you can call it Hershberger bred
and you can call it Big Game bred also
I couldn't resist Mike Sorry.

Re: Hereshberger blood?
melanie --got this from another website-
If you find dogs that go back to 1964 ACHA World Champion Stan's Sailor Jr., 1961 ACHA World Champion Stan's Sailor Boy, Grand Nite Ch. Ball's Hickory Nut Harry, Dual Grand Ch. Merchan'ts Bawling Barney, Grand Nite Ch. Norman's Coon Stopper, Dual Grand Ch. House's Lipper, Grand Nite Ch. Nocturnal Nailor, Ch. Grand Nite Ch. Rock River Sackett Jr., the one common thread that ties them all together is the bloodlines of Hershberger's Spot Jr. or his son Ch. Nite Ch. Hershberger's Okla. Spot.
i can remember a dog i had that had a lot of hershberger in a big pedigree-
she was a fast track dog-- the old timer i got her from gave credit for her speed to the hershberger blood in her-
that was only 30 years ago
i hear what devins saying--
you would probably look hard to find a walker that didnt have hersberger in it if you have a long enuff pedigree
i heard of a young stud dog out west , Lightning Ridge Hardwood Bozo,, he is hershberger both sides--
have you ever seen this website
The Foundation Of The Breed
http://finleyriverchief.forumotion.net/
some pretty good info there on different strains and how they are tied together-
lots of old pedigrees etc- --
that website would be a great start on a book -- but only crazy walker people would buy it

Thanks Pete and Devin..
You actually answered what I needed by talking about the Bozo line.. That is more of what I was looking for.. What lines are some of the heaviest bred

Re: Hereshberger blood?
There is a guy here in Oklahoma who has some that they have been line breeding for a while ( 30+ years so he say's) I got a 4 month old pup I just got last week out in the pen as we speak
. I wont post there names they dont want to really be messed with, but if you want to pm me your info and i will give it to them. There not to much on selling there dogs I got mine because of a friend they know well and he begged them for me . I am gonna try to get another one if i can and if this one works out. There the old stuff not watered down or outcrossed much @ all, they run bobcat with there dogs and do real good, they are papered dogs that havent left there family but a few times. They are real real tight bred if you dont like that you may wanna look else where.I don't have alot of knowledge of walker bloodlines, maybe this line of dog's suck
I just got the dog cause there catching bobcats alot with'em and thats what i am trying to do.I was looking for finley river dogs when i was told about these guys dogs, hope there as good!
