Pups born April 22nd

Postby Melanie Hampton » Tue Feb 23, 2010 12:02 am

I thought about waiting until pups were born, but will take a few names if interested..

I made an outcross on my Jane female (Sackett-Lipper bred) on my Brisco male.. He has been bred locally for biggame.. He is the 5th generation born on the west coast.. Goes back to old Hershberger and House breeding on his sire's side.. He is single registered UKC (I have seen his sire's papers) His dam was supposed to be very heavy Finley River bred but I never did see her papers.. What I do know is this is a VERY consistant game catching family of dogs.. I have hunted with his sire and about 30 half brothers/sister.. He has 4 litters currently on the ground, 2 litters over 2 and 2 under 1 year old.. They are all doing very well..

Jane is a nice catdog and had the makings to be a damn nice beardog.. I spent a lot of time trying to get her bent on them.. She is a badass coondog.. She has a nice cold nose and lots and lots and lots of drive without being stupid..

Brisco is a catdog.. That is what he does and he does it well.. He is also showing that his pups are going to be as nice as him and in some cases nicer.. He is reproducing his family traits.. Great tree dog.. None of the half ass stuff.. Deadly accurate on bobcats... Wicked cold nose.. Lots of brains.. They are also a quirky line of dogs.. leaning towards being one man type dogs..

This cross is for me and my kennel partner.. We will be keeping at least 2 pups and I have a couple more spoken for.. This outcross is going to be bred back into our line, which is why we made it.. Between me and Nick we own 6 Brisco pups right now.. We bred them because we want to hunt them..

Feel free to ask questions and I'm sure I can get you references if you want.. There are a couple people on this board who own a pup out of Brisco.. Most pups go to people who have hunted this line.. My pups come with a buy back after their first cat season if you don't like them.. They generally are priced on the higher end, but I will back them up..
And I try and be as absolute as picky as I can be on who they go to..

They will be UKC registered but no PR status.. I haven't priced them yet and won't until they are born..

If you have a pup left over Mell I would enjoy hunting a pup out of that stock of dogs

Jane had her pups early early early this morning.. 8 total.. 4 females and 4 males.. So far everyone is doing good..

I may have one female still availible and a couple males.. Pups are $350 , I will ask for a nonrefundable deposit of $100 in about a week and the rest is due in cash when you pick the pups up, or before I ship them.. I will be keeping the females a couple weeks extra until make my pick..

This ia the most colorful litter Brisco has had.. All of them are marked up more like Jane..
