Hi Mt Goat, I have a young hound out of that blood line that seems to be doing the job pretty good for me. When I first got him @ 1 yr old took him coon hunting with an older dog and treed a a couple of coon that were shot out to him and he has been doing good on coon since. I mostly use him on big game and he does really well on bear and fox and is even starting to come on pretty good on lions. He was pretty easy to break off of trash too, wouldn't say he's broke though only time will tell that. Let me know how they turn out I have wondered about this blood line also don't know much about bloodlines just hunt the dogs i like and think might have potential. I have tried to find out about bam bam, kowboy, I think it was flying hawk in his bloob and some others but really haven't find out much as there isn't much info on these lines that I have found.

My Male out of that bloodline started coming on pretty good when he got about a year old also, but when he came around boy he sure did come around. He is now about 2 1/2 yrs. old and is going good on Bear, Lion, Fox and Coon. I really haven't been able to put him on any Cats yet, but he almost started his own track in the snow with me walking him up the hill.

My Dogs are all close to Big Bam Bam and of course Kowboy. My dog PR Mojave River Kowboy is the sire to those funny looking gey pups with the blue eyes in another post. The bitch is a great great grand daughter to Pee Wee Kowboy. But I have brought in some good new blood.
I have had good luck by more carefully breeding the problems out of the dogs such as hip problems. I keep pups longer before I sell them because of this. I try not to sell them if they have bad hips.
That is a big Problem with that line as I hear and find.
Many of my dogs are great if not the best dogs people own and I sell many to repeat customers. I have sold to Europe, central America Mexico and all over the states.
This must be too close a pairing..LOL

The Meyers dogs I have had about one in five at first but now only one in twenty shows signs of hip dysplacia. The tell tail would be the dogs start to limp or hop on thier back legs.
But by introducing some new blood from good hounds the problems are more minor. I knoiw people who have great hounds that run bear strong but seem to have the symptoms.
I most often nutter or spay the dog and give them away to people looking for companion dogs or on farms. They do well most of the time.I never breed a dog that I haven't had xrayed or ultra sound.
The nose may not be the coldest but it's most often very good and the brains make up for it.
I only breed smart dogs. If they have a good nose but no sense I don't breed them.
I have to lock my doors because two of my dogs will come in if they think we are gone or asleep. They know where the biscuits are stored and they have cleaned us out. Two other dogs will climb the fence if the spa is on and we find them sitting in it like guest at a bar-b-que.
Another jumps in the car and fools with the guages, dials and steering wheel. Not sure but I think she wants to drive.
Another thing about the Myers line, even though they tend to be big hounds they are agile and fairly fast.
My dog Bow is the fastest hound I have ever seen.
