Can anyone tell me if the Clover bred bloodline is good for bear hunting?

I've owned one so far and I love him. I got him from Casey Cardwell of Lightning Ridge Kennel in Utah... He's out of his female and Spanky's Bubba dog. Half brother/half sister cross, both out of Wild Card.

I bought him as a pup. He's got the best temperment ever. Smart, laid back. Handles great. Complete natrual, started early, from the first time I took him out. He's built like a brick $ht house. Huge bawl mouth on track, chop on tree. Super quick. Great nose. Hard treedog. Gritty and a ton of drive. I just started him on bear, this will be his first season. He's 14 months old.

I did not have as much luck as Cassandra with the Clove bred pup I tried.. But I have honestly only tried the one.. She didn't make it...

I am with Mel on this one. I got 3 out of Bubba and 1 turned out and I think it was due to the mother more than the father. She went back closer to the old stuff that the Clover line is out of. The ones that didn't work for me were more coon dog style. Would not work a old track, not alot of hunt in them, lots of fight in them at the tree, slick tree.
If you are running some hot tracks, I think they will do fine for you.
