why is it that all the walker pups these days black headed? even the lipper bred dogs [typically red headed] are spitn out black head pups... that black gene must be dominant even though red is suppose to be dominant color for hounds

HOW BOUT IT!!!

Only one I got was out of my male bred to a Black Headed female. My other litters have always turned out all red headed. Most of mine are changing to red by just a few days old. I have one here out of my male (same sire as the black headed pup) that was born Red headed, in fact she was born all red.

I will say the Lipper dogs have always had there fair share of black heads... The Harry dogs are notorious for it too. It's not just Bozo and Clover dogs.

My three amigos!
