Slugger has some of the best producing Walker bood in the world including Abbott's famous Nocturnal Jodie (historically the highest producing walker female ever) on his top and bottom of his pedigree!!!
Slugger is a dual purpose hound - he possesses the drive to hunt both bear and coon, and is an excellent rig dog on both. He has all the grit a hound needs to put the bear in the tree but absolutely has not an ill hair towards other hounds. He has treed bear alone, complete track from truck to tree w/the bear in the wood.
Slugger has a big bawl mouth, huge 4 bawl locate, and deep steady chop on tree. He is also an outstanding looking hound to boot!!
I rarely comp hunt as I don't have the time any more, but I got bored last winter and finished Slugger to Nitech in 3 hunts in 1 month!!! 1 - 1st place win and 2 - 2nds.
I usually only breed for myself, but what I own is too close to cross him with, hes not been bred yet. I want to get some pups on the ground so I can see his likeness for years to come.
Slugger is my 3rd generation breeding and I only keep and breed the very best. I think he will make a big impact on the Walker breed. But, don't get me wrong, in bear hunting I hunt what will run a bear, so if you want to breed your best bluetick, etc. to Slugger you are more than welcome.
