wondering what walker bloodlines have the best cold trailing abilities

just my opinion but I like the older bozo blooded hounds. Hounds like Logans Wild Clover, Stone Mountain Steel, and Hardwood Patch. Finding direct off spring is long past gone on clover but you maybe able to find some old pleasure hunters that have some from the other two around.

House blooded hounds were also excellent hounds for there nose especially when crossed on Shives. The old hurts bawling banjo lines that produced hounds like loose bruce works great.

I couldn't agree more with Scott. Tops for sure. A couple of others come to mind when crossed correctly.

Line bred Finley River old on Cumberland Valley & Whitecloud.

Nances linebred closely along Little Topper can produce very cold nosed fast trailers who work well on dry ground lion as well as bobcats.

Rock River Ring also had a reputation for very cold nosed trail hounds.

Alot of the Marosok's Bobby / Nances Sally cross were cold nosed. Add some of the Whitecloud / Cumberland Mtn. in there and they were real cold nosed and could really move a track.

I have some original papers from Marvin Glenn of Douglas, Arizona and his foundation dogs which have become very famous for catching lions, and jaguars in the hot southwest.I will see if I can scan them and put them on if not I will list the dogs as I can.

I have some Washburn bred walkers, they seem to have a very cold nose. I have seen some things that really amazed me. If they strike, the coon or bear is there and they will usually tree it. These dogs go back to the old Merchant's breeding, and Finley River Chief several times. I have crossed this with a linebred old blood Finley River bitch and have big hopes for these pups, they are almost 10 mts old now. They are starting to trail, and tree a little. I think they will be real good.

I was just checking my papers and my pups go to Houses Chief, Finley River Chief in 6 generation, They also have Merchants Boss 2 times along with a host of other good hounds. The seven generation has too many to list but most of the old foundation Treeing Walkers are there. If papers can tree game, i am really looking good
