Hello, I am writing from Spain (Europe), me and two friends of mine imported plotts three years ago to hunt wild boars with them, and they are getting the job done, SURE. Great breed!! they are just what we were looking for.

One person has contacted to me some days ago. He lives in Spain, but far from me, his land is quite different from mine. His wild boar hunting style is quite different too. He doesn´t hunt with hounds, he needs warm-nosed, gritty dogs, silent on track, he believes some kind of cur like Mountain or Black Mouth would work, and I think so too.

What do you think about? Mountain or Black Mouth? Any breeder to contact to with strong hog-bloodline in the south or southeast? Truly hoghunting dogs, please.

me personally i use catahoulas . they are about the grittiest of the curs . when the hogs here started covering some country when jumped i started crossing the catahoulas on plotts . and wound up with an exceptional hog dog with grit , nose and speed to stop just about any hog . and the catahoulas are just more pleasing to the eye than the other curs . lots of flash and colors .
