Curs on Bobcats

Anyone use silent trailers on bobcats? Does it make a big difference in catching bobs compared to an open dog?

Beimel,

Mr. Dan McDonough (sp) here and his many friends use more Silent Hounds than others for Cats.

But DO NOT become confused with the term "Cur" and Silent Trailers. The McDuffie and the John Wick Curs as well as the West Coast Curs are definitely not SILENT. They may be tighter with their Mouths than a Pot Licker-Tree Bred Hound, but I have seen several who gave as much mouth as a Good Running Bred Hound on a Good Track.....as Much Mouth as was worthy of the Quality of the Track!

Hope this made sense.

not all curs are silent in fact I have one that sometimes barks way too much on a track and he sounds like a bawl mouth hound. most are smart enough to shut up and run on a hard running track if they are the good kind of cur..jmo
no mater if you think you can or you think you cant,, you are probably rite.

My best curs for bobcats have been dead silent. They catch fast and most of the time on the ground, the race is short.I know most guys on here like to hear the dogs bark on the race,I just like to catch game with my dogs.I have had very bad luck with open dogs in the country I hunt, way to many rock piles for cats to hole up in!
