study the chart....odfw would like you to believe only 5 cubs were harvested along with 172 sows...look wrong? you have to review the whole page to understand. you also must understand the life span of a black bear. i made some very solid claims against the snare program. i disapprove of this method of removal vs. conventional sport hunting. odfw prefers this method for a few reasons. 1. you can't dispute the effectiveness of steel. 2. when someone like myself discovers what is really going on odfw knows all to well you are hard pressed to do anything about it given both are government agencies.

i go full circle back to measure 18. the use of hounds and bait were the reason behind the measure. was the intent of the voter to transfer the power from the private sector over to the government? i don't think so. to fully understand this chart you must understand something about black bears.

your game dept. would like you to think they are not targeting any females with cubs and show 5 total cubs. what you must understand is the following.

black bear sows don't become of breeding age until around the fourth summer. mating season is around may or june +or- the planted egg does not become fertile until later. this is called delayed implantation only know in a few species of animals. generally depending on the condition of the bear to make it safely through the winter determines if mother nature allows the egg to become implanted to produce offspring. cubs are born in the den. the most common number is two. documents have shown as many as five. with the delayed implantation all cubs are born fairly close to the same time each year being in jan-feb.

birth of cubs..... birth weight is around 10-16 ounces. upon emerging from the den these cubs weigh about 3-4 kg or about 2+ pounds per kilo or 7-10 pounds.a cub is dependent on its mothers milk for about 30 weeks. it is learning basic survival skills at the same time. cubs do not become independent until around 16-18 months of age.a sow will kick the cubs out at that time. this is about spring-summer time on average. the sow will breed again or on the cycle of may-june because of the long cycle for a cub to mature enough to survive on its own the sow will only breed every other year.

why the bear lesson?...simple. now go back to the chart and tell me only five cubs were following the 172 sows. i think probably closer to 226 granted several of the 221 will fall into the category of two to four years of age as being subs this is to be fair with the chart...what do you think? i stand by the statistics of a cub not being able to take care of itself until 16-18 months of age. this means the cub also spends its first winter with its mother in the den and has two spring snare seasons to screw up and become the next usda statistic.

now i go back to one of my earlier claims...if a year old cub is around 40-60 pounds into its second snare season...do you think those bears are removed from the woods...what about the first season 10-15 pounders? you decide

this is anything but game managment. this is simply to eradicate or destroy a big game mammal that doesn't belong to the private land owner or the government. they belong to the people. anyone who would like the actual document sent to me by odfw....feel free to contact me. you washington guys may want to have them for reference. a law suit needs to happen. 1. challenge the transfer of authority by the voter to the government 2. who owns these mammals. as soon as i hit print i will also print a copy for myself. this will be faxed over to the capitol building, our senators, odfw.just for starters.....common sense will tell you something has to give....this is the reason for backing off the total public awareness about these programs...i think this would kill all aspects... us included....but hey...we ain't hunting anyhow...

quick overview....not only did the state figure out how to game the system.....they figured out how to have you pick up 100% of the tab in some areas and partial funding in others.....now that is colddddd!!! i hope i can hit a nerve at some point.....get involved in changing this....if the shoe was on the other foot....you would be behind bars....
