MPHC is only having two UKC events this year and the RQE.
There is an all dog fund raising event and free youth hunt, too.
First UKC event is October 8, 2001 at EE Wilson 3pm BS and 7pm NH. $15/dog/event.
Fundraiser open to all hounds 11/12/11 7pm $25/dog.
Or you or your company can sponsor a cast.
Between MPHC and OUSDA, hundreds of dollars are donated to Doenbecher's every year and people get to see houndsmen doing something kind for others..not what the general public thinks of if they think of us at all.
12/3/11 UKC Show and NH same times as 10/8/11 above.
1/14/11 6pm Youth Coonhunt free and opened to all hounds, or just bring a kid and we'll find a hound for them to use!
3/2 and 3/2012 RQE (kind of tentative still)
MPHC has Beagle events and a small game clinic and handicapped rabbit hunts, too. They do a lot and can really use help from other houndsmen around the area (ie all of Oregon and SW WA!)...regardless of level of skill!
Please visit Baying Brairs to learn more.

Thanks to everyone who came out to EE Wilson for MPHC first coonhound event of the year yesterday. It was a picture perfect Autumn day! Little shower late in the evening must have done the trick, Bob Baker's Thunder won the hunt with +400 and Joseph Melson's Buddy scored +350!
Where are the dogs you ask? In the dog boxes

Champion male and female of the Bench Show went to Dave Cummins' Rock Creek Royal Blue Buster and Rock Creek Blue Penny:
The Best of Show female was awarded to Kathy Corbett's WyEast With Bells On:
It was a real nice day. We hope to see everyone out there Saturday November 12 for the 7pm Doernbecher Fundraising Hunt. This one is NOT UKC, so any dog that will tree a coon (or maybe not) is welcomed and wanted!

Update for the Event 12/3/2011
We had 9 dogs in the Bench Show judged by Nora. I didn't copy the info down, maybe Nora can post who won?!
There was one registered cast for the Nite Hunt, and Joseph melson's Buddy won with +225. It was really foggy all day and socked in by evening, but it cleared some later. The beaglers said they saw coons on the ground at 2pm it was so foggy! Strange but beautiful day.
Here are some pictures I got:
And that's it because Photobucket is behaving poorly

So did WA and OR both have the R.Q.E. scheduled on the same night or will it be like it usually is with one Friday and one Saturday? Also what are the dates for sure and deadlines? Thanks

First, let say THANK YOU to the families of the 12 kids that showed up for MPHC Annual Youth Hunt and the the troupers at MPHC who work so hard so events happen!
We had 12 really delightful kids. The weather was dry by Oregon standards and the hot dogs were hot back at the club house.
All the photos were dumped in the Photobucket, in backwards order for whatever reason
If my wrist wasn't killing me, and bandwidth grew on trees, I'd post every single kid on here. If you can scroll through the pictures and see how excited or serious to get out to the woods the kids are without smiling yourself...well, heck, I'll pray for you!

MPHC has gotten the RQE as a two nighter.
First weekend of March, Friday and Saturday. Standarad disclaimer...check all UKC dates through UKC for the final word.
Last year we were going to have WSCA and MPHC share a weekend, each taking a night. Someone had called UKC and lied about the fiscal situation, at the time, of WSCA. To whomever did that...silly grinch, the show went on regardless! This year Jerry and Missy just put in for two nights because logistically one night isn't worth driving so far and we all know it, there is no WSCA and I am not sure Pomeroy could get an RQE as a new club without MOH with some experience. Next year, maybe we'll go back to each state sharing a night...who knows.
Dee...if you havent already, ya'll oughta get someone readied up to Bench Show apprentice so they can do two apprenticeships that weekend. There will be two different judges! That's the one of hardest parts of getting new judges or MOH, apprenticing under 3 different people!

Looks like the youth hunt was a success. Libby I'll check into the bench show stuff when I get back to the NW. Maby next year we can have a MOH and BS Judge but we have had a great time at the new club in Pomeroy and have meet some wonderful people in SE Washington.
We will have our last hunt until Oct the following weekend after the RQE at EE Wilson and hope some of you can attend.
