Mary's Peak (Oregon) Calendar

Postby Libby » Thu Sep 06, 2007 3:20 pm

Oregon cooners, please read the WSCA posts also.

Also, just because you do not have a UKC registered dog, note Mary's Peak has grade dog/money hunts on most the Fridays before UKC hunts. So bring those big game hounds out if you have Friday free! Or you can just stay up a few more hours and hunt the next morning

Mary's Peak does a lot of service stuff to help improve hunter's image and we need your support.

Thanks

Thanks for posting that Libby...

I will be up to the UKC events... If we still had our old Tex dog we would have made it to the grade ones too.. I was looking forward to putting the old boy in some hunts......

I look forward to meeting you, Melanie. Sorry Tex can't be here. We won't have a registered dog this year, but hopefully by next...hummm, well, by 2009, or 2010...Redbones can be slow starters...lol

Well I have a pup to ship to Canada out of Portland and I am hoping to arrange it to do early on Saturday morning and then hit the BS. I would love to go hunt Nora.... I am still thinking about only letting Jack run cats.. But I will bring Jane up and maybe Mandie if she has regained her girlish figure from the pups  I will be up there with a couple dogs for sure :D

i was there for the grade dog hunt i didnt see ya there nora. it was pretty fun i think only like one person had plus points my group went to 3 trees the first one though we were on a time out calling dogs in to move to a new area we couldnt find them so we went back to the truck on the way to the trucks we heard them so we made our way over there and they were treed but we couldnt find the coon. then one of the guys young dogs got in to it with a skunk. after that we went to another tree but it was hollowed out so me and my buddy zach who had a blue dog entered got circled then after that all the dogs got suckered in to a skunk but it was in a culvert. then we went on to another tree that was a milion feet high probly 4 to 5 feet at the base never found that one. it was a good time though dogs kept treeing were we could find the coon eather we got some smart dogs that are good at the slick treeing and know how to pick a good slick tree or them coons are just going up some hard to find brushy trees. i am going to the next one in novemeber. are you going to that one. well hope to see ya there
cant never could

So how'd you and Mel do Saturday, Nora? There were 7 dogs, 4 reg and 3 NtCH...no plus points...on Saturday night. It was so foggy on the drive home. I guess the coons decided to make popcorn and watch SNL.

Our cast on Friday treed a porky :) No problem finding it either. It was only about 6 feet off the ground. Thankfully none of the dogs were stupid enough to try too hard to get at it and no quills shed.

Finally watched the movie last night...wasn't scary enough we couldn't have walked to the bathroom by ourselves :( I expected more from a movie based on a Stephen King story.

Libby,

I had a great time with Mel. Got a few good strickes. Very nice out. No rain at all. We had a bit of fog on the way home at 5AM. I would not be surprised if Mel never wanted to come over again. I drug her threw alot in two days.

Heck I am ready to roll again LOL My butt was tired on the drive home..

Would have just a tad bit better if we had treed something so I could get pictures of Jane treeing. She is the only one I seem to miss getting pictures of.

I can't complain, Jane brought home a trophy and a big ribbon :D I "might" nite hunt her next time if I can get her under some coons down here before next time... As long as she isn't in heat

Nora.. Her toenail came the rest of the way off.. Looks REALLY sore.. Nothing left but a stub of quick... yikes..

Libby, it was good to meet you.. I had a blast up there..

Libby I sure wish you guys would rethink the no UKC nite hunt Friday night.Turning away a few extra dogs anyway.Have the grade dog deal and registered. If its a money deal raise the entries on Friday nite cause the guys, like myself and Bobbie who are chasing titles don't mind paying. And the two nights makes it more worthwhile to drive that far.
