That picture has been burned into my memory ever since I was a young boy and that chapter in the book A Sporting Chance helped spark the interest in hounds for me.
A good dog hunts wherever he's set down.

I suppose some of you remember Gladys Adkins Bee Dee's daughter that use to post on here occasionaly. She sent a hardback copy of the book as well as a very old Argosy magazine with an article about her father. Remember the Disney movie ( Fox and The Hound), and Copper was the hound well this was patterned after Bee Dee who did a lot of animal work for Walt Disney.
Bee Dee was drowned in a flashflood in Arizona many years ago. Trying to cross with a vehicle as it came up quickly. As most of us who live in the deser southwest know a lot of water quick is deadly in the desert.

Old Bee Dee was the real deal for sure.
