Maverick Moose Chili

This is a chili I have been making for years. I have made it with all kinds of ground meats (beef, turkey, deer, elk) but I prefer ground moose. I decided to finally give it a name after the 2008 Republican ticket, McCain/Palin being as I make it with Alaska moose. Yes, I am a proud Republican, but I am sure the Democrates will also enjoy it.
Makes: 1 crockpot
Prep Time: 20 min
Cook Time: all day
Ready In: 0
Servings: 12
Ingredients
1 pound ground moose (beef, turkey, deer, elk can be used)
1 28 oz can of Rotel diced tomatoes
1 28 oz can of chili beans
1 28 oz can of kidney beans (dry can also be used)
1 28oz can of pinto beans (dry can also be used)
2 2.25 oz cans of sliced black olives
1 coarsely chopped white onion
1 coarsely chopped green bell pepper
chili seasoning mix to taste (depends on the level of spice you can tolerate)
Directions
Brown ground meat in skillet
In a large crock pot combine all beans, Rotel, and olives. Stir in the browned meat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper. Stir in the chili seasoning and let simmer all day. The longer you let it simmer the better as the flavours will blend.
Serve in crock type bowls, top with shredded cheddar cheese. Serve with fresh baked cornbread and sweet honey butter!!
Men LOVE this meal!!
