Re: montana houndsman
Some houndsmen in MT want 0 females killed and others want to responsibly manage the lion population by harvesting some females. Our lion population in some areas are out of control.
Re: montana houndsman
no question they half to be managed but when you cant find a track for weeks you half to change something management goes 2 ways

I agree with you 100%. We have had a lack of management for some years now and the population is abundant in places. Its hard to find a happy medium to manage lions. It will probably always be a roller coaster ride with highs and lows in the population. The thing that worries me is if we don't start managing them like we should then people will get fed up with the lions and want to see them become a predator instead of a trophy animal. Not sure if this would ever happen but its possible. The deer and elk hunters with out dogs out number us by alot. They have a different perspective on lions.
