"Houndn'em Bluetics" summer bears

Postby houndnem » Mon Jul 30, 2012 2:32 am

Been out a couple time this summer, thought I would share a few pics. My boy just turned 4 and was able to make his first bear tree the day before his birthday! I'm afraid I have created a monster, all he wants to do is hunt. he has made a lion tree, bear tree, and a hog bay! happy hunting, Jared.

Jared, very nice looking young man! Cherish your time with him while he is young! Time flies the older you get! Take care and good hunting!

Thats the best way to pass the sport on to the next generation.

Bear hunting in general is way easier to get the kids to a tree. The weather is better and most hunts involve a camp out. Kids love all of that.

I'm still confused why the udwr fights us tooth and nail against the summer season. My kid like yours has seen way more fun and game over hounds than the absent deer population in Utah.
Jared enjoy and keep up the good work.

our summer chase season ended sunday. we got out one last time and got lucky! I had rigg dogs on the box, but my old "Hook" rigged it from inside the box before they had a chance. kinda wierd, but when I let her out she ran straight shot about a mile and was baying the bear within 30 min. shock and awe time, dumped the whole box and it was treed in 20 more minutes! had a young feller with me that has been helping me with the dogs the last couple years, he now has two youngins of his own and the one is already making every race! time to let the dogs get a little weight back on until our kill season opens on the 25th. enjoy, Jared.

got to see rams fighting that same day!

we see them about every other trip up there. they are in a national park so they're half tame. they are wild though and cross in and out of the park often. I think they just opened a hunt for this herd.
