how far to tree

if your coon dogs were to get sight of a bear, would the bear typically go along ways before treeing? if it is a regional difference, this is central va

10 feet - 10 miles ever bear is different . The grit of the dogs will also come into play on a mean bear.

ok. kinda what i was thinking. i would guess that most bears around here have never been treed. we have a 4 day hound season and a couple week training season, but nobody does it.

/this week I had 3 wet sows pop up after the jump and I just came in from a long walking bayed up bear which the dogs got sent packing. The dogs are really tired going into the race but that really is no excuse. The longest I have had is right at 20 miles but have also had many pop ups.
