Mic, I'm Oregonian by birth but Okie by blood so that might have something to do with it.

Mic,This is one of the reasons i like blue dogs and this strain in particular. Sadie was out of S.R. Spot and Hammons Tina of Antlers,Ok. She was a granddaughter of the great S.R.Diamond Jim.She could and did tree everything ,coon, cat ,lion and bear.Mainly bobcat. She ran a coldtrack and flew on the jump and she'd hammer a tree right down to the stump. She was a good one .

I need to dig deep for some old pics Robin. My hunting partners brother had a bluetick male that was Smoky River some other breeding. That male was about 85 lbs. And fast. A super strike dog and a hell of a cat and bear dog. To me he was as close to perfect as they came. To me they are priceless if they are super bobcat and bear hounds. We only got 1 litterout of him. That litter all ended up getting killed early in life. And Smoky ended up getting hit by a log truck at 7 years old.

It seems like the good ones have a target on their backs.Sadie had to be put down at 6 because of cancer.Waited to long ,should have gotten pups from her.I just got a litter from my old female and young stud dog.The pups have a lot of Smokey River in them, trouble was only 2 lived out of 9.Trying to raise and train a good one can be frustrating and discouraging BUT sure is rewarding when it does happen.

If only I knew then what I know now my pack would be half bluetick now. I was blinded by my dad back then and everything needed to be pure and registered.
