This year, I've noticed quite a few mangey looking bears.
I've seen two dead bears so far, coming out of two different areas, and thier face around thier eyes and muzzle are all but bald.
Last year, never seen one that didn't have an absolutely perfect plush coat all year long.
Could it be mange? Or could it be that these two bears were taken at a certain time of the year? Or could they be rubbing the fur off? (I beleive both bears were fairly young, mature bears, and weren't just loosing hair due to old age)
All I know is they are beutiful bears, all but thier bald muzzle and eyes.
Here's one of them.
