If sb1221 passes

Postby Ktarvin » Tue Apr 10, 2012 8:14 pm

I'm not a very political type person. Some of you are. My question is. If this gets voted threw by these people that were able to talk to on the 24th. Is that the end for us. Do we get to vote. Bascily what's the whole process if it gets that far. Are these people gonna vote on the 24th. If not then when.

From what I understand the 24th is for us to voice our opposition to the committee members. There are nine Senators on the committee, six democrats and three republicans, then they will deliberate and vote amongst themselves to decide if this issue should become a ballot measure which any registered voter can vote on.

at least that is how i think it goes.

I guess i was way off. thank you Liz for the links below. very educational

Kerry I hope you will make it to the hearing...nite hunts are fun but I'm sure we all still want to be bear and cat hunting too so hope to see everyone there!!
You too bowtech....
Short of getting divorced or fired we all have no excuse...I know I have spent plenty of 'I-eye' days hunting.

Please see these 2 links below to read how a bill becomes law, ordinarily once a bill passes it's first hearing it must then be heard by the assembly and the senate, but I have heard the supporters might be trying to fanangle a way to get it slipped through faster? Not sure how they will do that but I would not trust any of those worthless pos's any farther than I could throw them so they may indeed have something up their sleeve...all the more reason we need everyone to kill it now.

If it is approved by the Senate natural resources committee then it goes on to a vote in the house then senate and on to the Governors office for his signature. The people never vote on it. The bill was written by a democratic senator, the natural resources committee is democrat majority, the house and senate are democrat controlled and the Governor is a democrat so you can see the problem there. If this does get shot down at some point you can count on HSUS to gather signatures for a ballot measure.

Has DFG come out with a stance on this?

Fish and Game does not get involved in this process....What will happen with your black bears will be the same thing that happened to your cougar....Usda will be hiring a bunch of hound hunters to kill your bears.....
One way or another, bears and cougar are going to die......management will happen....When Sport hunters are no longer a management tool than your state will engage USDA-APHIS Wildlife Services and the Government hounds will kill your bears......just that simple. You are now following the Oregon plan....

ANY ONE INTERESTED IN THE STATS FROM OUR GAME DEPARTMENT?.....GIVE ME A PM WITH YOUR MAILING ADDRESS OR E-MAIL ADDRESS AND I WILL FORWARD THE THOUSANDS OF BEARS OUR STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS KILLED IN THE LAST FEW YEARS.....WAY MORE IMPRESSIVE TO WALK IN AND THROW DOWN PAGE AFTER PAGE OF DEAD BEARS.....

Oregon and Washington are very similar. We were also told the Fish and Game couldn't get involved, but u don't see them staying out of the Wolf controversy. It should be the Job of the Fish and Game to let the facts be know about the problems that will occur without hound hunting for bear and cats. But like Mike said, Bears will be killed! It just will not be the sportsmen doing it. No tag fees- Bears will be killed by hired houndmen (a select few) and snared off feeding stations. If interested, I will also try and get copies of all the bear permits issued to houndmen and trappers over the past few years in Washington State. They are just trying to control who is in the woods hunting bear. Timber Co.'s will always be able to protect their investment so there will always be a need to control the bear population.

not to get off topic to much, but if cali. did loose bear, and they were just like washington, you would still need to buy a biggame tag to run bear for them, hunt bear for free, and turn everything over to them.... might sound like your getting the shaft, and if cali does loose on this bill then you pretty much are, but if you dont like it, then you can coon hunt, move, or keep fighting.

Ya it does seem they would want to get there information to the senate. But then agian they don't like hound hunters in state. We are all just a bunch of redneck poachers. If they can't or won't get involved can we get the info to present to the senete on the 24th. I'm sure somebody has already thought of it or might even gonna speack about it. Can the organizations like chc get the info.

kerry.

I'm sending this information to three of the California hound hunters on this page who sent request to me.

I'm sure one of them can get this information to the Senators

I will also have our cougar harvest numbers coming next week from ODFW.

This should include 2007 to present the total number of cougar harvested and the dollar amount spent hiring USDA and contractors in Oregon. I will e-mail this to the guys who sent me request for the bear numbers just as soon as I have them in hand....

One of you California guys need to hammer Fish and Game for your cougar harvest numbers and the cost associated.....Start making your case!

Thanks mike. I'm not a good speaker so send the good stuff to people thAt are. But I think tomarrow may be a rain day at work so I may be able to to sac dfg and ruffle some feathers. Like I told good friend this is the first time I've had to deal with a hunting rights being takin away. And Ive talk to what I consider some well respected Old timers that say that hsus is crazy cause they were there when lion huntin got takin away. He said that get crazy in yer face and stuff like that to get a rise and make us all look like dumdass rednecks. Well I'm a dumdass redneck I admit it with fuse that's as long as my d$&k but I and all the people that show up on the 24th have to curb it. Dont bring yer f$&@ing dogs like I've heard peoe want to do. They will steal em. Take yer dog box out cause I here they brake yer windows. Let's go in there and (beep) wipe this (beep) bill off there (beep) dumbass faces then go back to gettin dogs in shaPe for next bear season.
Sorry the redneck came out.
Good huntin
