So far a good year!
So far a good year!
Five days hunting and four bears in the tree and one bay up on the ground. Not too bad! Well Ill be honest, three out of the four bears was a sow and two cubs caught in two different trees. Its actually starting a little slower than last year for me, but as it gets warmer I beleive it will pick up. My dog "Striker" got his azz kicked by a bear again, he laid out all last season from injuries from a bear on opening weekend. This is the third year we have had him and he has been hurt every year, this is the forth time he has got mauled by a bear. You would think he was a plott, not a bluetick, you know being a slow learner and all. LOL

I wouldn't feed a dog like that. Keep him on cats and save on the vet bills.

Hope your blue tick does better for you this year! Mine doesn't seem to get the concept of backing off either yet. Sometimes I look at him while he is baying, and I wonder if he even thinks while he is doing so lol

Get'em up there boys!
Re: So far a good year!
yeah i'm a little nervous for my black and tan blue tick male to get to a bear this year because although a coon is much smaller i know, he jumps in for the shake soon as he gets close enough while baying. I know it's just a coon but thats all he's seen so far other than fox. I would hate for him just to jump on a bear like he does bayed coons.
