Does it really matter? When these kind of pissing matches start. You will find many guys that cannot count. They count cubs, and pound bears out to tree them again. Tree one pound it out 3 times, tree it 3 more times. Pound the chest and say we treed 4 bear. A sow with 3 cubs. We treed 4 bear.

It really does not matter much other than for one's ego. Not always the best judge of the quality of a dog either. Seen a lot of dogs that could tree a bear. Hell I have treed a few. But first time yogie says boo. Dogs are under the truck.

TO each there own. If it makes one feel good so be it. Better to just hunt the crap out of the dogs, and have fun doing it!

Nope. doesn't matter. never said it did. you never know why people catch a lot or only one. hunt over bait or rough terrain. I don't ask. just curious how many bears are out there. if people think they need to start loading matches that's on them. I'be never caught a bear with my own dogs this is my first year I don't have to lie about a number to be better or think down on my self because I haven't and either should people. should be able to freely declare what them and there dogs have earned no matter the process.

One would sure like to think so, but that is not how it works. Which is why I don't bother to tell people the number. Only a handful of people will be told, or know. Just to much drama comes from it. As you will soon learn. It should be about having fun, and the dog work. Success should not be measured in trees, but often it is. hence the problem with counting.

A lot of variables. U got guys that hunt every day , guys that hunt everyday n more than 1 state n u got weekend hunters that mite take a few extra days here n there. U got thick bears where a cold trail is unheard of n it's like coon huntin n u got thin Bear where if u find 1 bear a day u better make it count. Wut I go by is when I get my shape is how many I catch out of how many I put down on. N most years I don't have 1 get away. It's all about Wut u want. Set ur goals high n don't settle for anything there's hounds out there that flat get it done u just have to weed threw a lot of crap. There's hounds out there that catch 50,60,100 bears a year that some guys wouldn't feed. Find Wut works for u n catches a lot of game.
