I had donated a hunt to Wounded Warriors in Action a great foundation that takes Purple heart recipients hunting and fishing. This hunt was to be filmed for Nosler Magnum TV hosted by Gary Joseph. Mike Martell the Action Trackchair rep from Oregon an advid houndsmen himself was here with one of the extreme wheelchairs for the hero ro use. Mike spent and extra week running bears what a blast.
Sgt major Pat Corcoran served 26 years before getting blown up in Afganistan from an IED buried 8 feet under the same paved road the US tax payers payed for.
Pat was able to kill this awesome 6'9" bear spot and stalking in the Action Trackchair at 60 yards.
the best part of the two weeks was using the hounds to harvest a color phase bear with Gary for the Magnum Club video series. Pat was able to use the chair to get all the way to the tree, you could not keep the smile off his face.
The filming week ended with Gary killing a nice boar with his bow stalking into 35 yards and closing the deal.
Mike Martell and Gary Joseph
Here are a bunch of photots of bears and dogs. We ended with 12 treed and two bayed up in nine days of hound hunting. What a riot!
Oscar is from Jeff Eberle, man is he turning it on at 7 months!!!
The whole crew with Pats bear.
What a great experiance, do what you can for the men and women who put themselves in harms way for our freedom.

Re: A wild two weeks
Doug,
Thanks for volunteering to host the Wounded Warriors in Action hunt. Sgm. Pat Corcoran's story is one that will leave you humbled, He too is a very humble patriot. This helps put life into perspective as we experience the loss of hunting rights etc...Without those service men and Women we would have nothing.
Last week while heading out to hunt I opened up the lower gate leaving with Doug and heading out into the wilderness, all of a sudden two low flying fighter jets topped the mountains heading south....All I could think of at the moment was simple....Glad I'm not the enemy because I would of had no time to kiss my butt goodbye....
Wounded Warriors in Action should not be confused with high profile Wounded Warriors Project, the difference is clear...John McDaniel founder of WWIA donates his time and the highest percentage of dollars donated to his foundation are in returned used for our honored military vets.... I know where I will donate my dollars from here on out...The difference is simple, the dollars go to guy's like Sgm. Corchoran who Damn near gave all! Pat will simply tell you he is glad to be alive and has no complaints....
Special Thanks to Nosler's Magnum host Gary Joseph, Great guy and a blast to hunt with, David Sager who is the videographer is also a great guy.
Action Trackchairs is opening new doors for those less fortunate with life altering situations.Honored to be a part of wilderness adventures for handicapped folks....Feel free to contact me if you have any needs or know anyone in need of an Action Trackchair....I have set up a financing progam with local lending institutions and they want to help...
The bears were tougher than most in the past....We had three pop ups and the rest rolled up the sleves and went to fighting....9 days over two and one half weeks of hunting....We had the dogs run out of gas several times...Four days out we treed two bear per day, that helps the averages...We bayed one solid big bear and just enjoyed the hound work....One week later he was harvested in a meadow spot and stalk by Sgm Pat Corcoran from the seat of the ATC....6'9"....what a pig, If I and Doug could have hand picked a bear for Pat it would have been the one he harvested....
Thanks again Doug and Julie McMann....Without Julie's cooking we would have had a hard time getting through the hunts....
Take Care, Mike
