West Virginia

Postby GVBEAR » Sun Dec 29, 2019 11:36 am

Thinking of taking a trip next year to west Virginia to try and run the dogs. Looking for any information or recommendations. From what I can find online training season for nonresidents starts in September and goes until March. Seeing if anyone can help with any more info.

Thanks!!

I live in PA and travel to WV and bear hunt a little. There is a lot of National forest land to hunt on. Depending on what area of WV your looking to hunt there are 3 different early seasons in Sept-Oct. The main season is in December and runs most of the month. Even by the end of December bears are starting to den and getting harder to run. Jan-March while you are allowed to run you would have a hard time doing so and to me not worth traveling during that time. Non-resident licence runs around $180.
