Re: Starting your hounds on Rigs
I'm in Orofino. I've rigged quite a few cats this winter although my dogs are not what I'd call rig dogs for cat. I know another guy who bought a dog from Oregon and it came here and started rigging cats just like it should. There is also an outfitter who was booked pretty full this winter and, despite no snow, caught quite a few lions and bobcat for his clients by rigging. I've got one young dog that came out of wyoming that started striking cats out of the box for me this winter and I think he'll shape up to be a nice rig dog once I get him cleaned up a bit. (he also never misses a coyote ahhaha)

Re: Starting your hounds on Rigs
I have plots that rig bobcats and lion from box and tree them. I live in south west Idaho. I do pretty good don't find one evry time out but do good enough to make me happy. I have a friend that had a house bred walker that that could rig 2 day old lion tracks . he wouldn't let you miss them. One winter he treed over 20 lions and half or more were rigged. One thing that is nice is when there is no snow you don't have any competition. I do a lot of walk hunting in cat country and catch dry ground a lot to .
