boxers

Postby jkcasey » Sat May 08, 2010 10:37 pm

I've always wondered if anyone has ever tried a boxer for a catchdog. Since we have already covered rotts, I thought I would pick y'alls brains on the boxer. They seem to be athletic enough, but the way their teeth are setup give me pause. Post your thoughts. Later Kiel

Pur Boxers have limited ability compared to other bull breeds, however boxer x blue heeler , or bullterrier are used with a lot of success over here.

if you are going to use one look for one that doesn't have the flat pug face, they are fairly common among BYBs and working lines (personal protection not hunting).

that said, if you can get one cheap or free to good home or whatever, give it a go. BUT i wouldn't go spend real money on one. for the cost of even a BYB pup you can get 3-4 generic "pitt bulls" (may not even have any pit bull blood) from the pound and at least one will turn out a good catchdog.

I'm not looking to get a boxer. It just got me to thinking, after we had the post on rotts. With these rough dogs I have a catchdog might just be a headache. Just curious if anyone has tried one. Kiel
