The plot in the pics is my Belle female. Belle is out of a dog that was run at stud in the American Cooner and Coon Hound Bloodlines for several years; Grand Nite Ch. Lock Tite Amos. Amos may or may not still be alive idk he was owned by Wade Mann of Philldelfia, MO, Wade is alil better known in the Coyote Hound world he has had Crogan bred coyote hounds for years but I guess he had several good Plot coon hounds to over the years he won the Missouri State coon hunt with a female out of Amos a few years ago i think he also bear hunts his dogs alil but im not sure where at. We have always cross bred our dogs LoL im kinda embarassed to say it but I have never even sent in her puppy papers. Im gona breed her next year to a full Plott he is registered but im not sure how he is bred either LoL. We have raised 2 litters out of Belle but once to a Airedale they are about 10 months old they are making excellent dogs and once to Zack's old Ridgeback dog Sampson they are just little fellars still. The Plot dog Im gona breed her to is out of Denny Jenkins' Tracker dog I think he is out of some Oklahoma dogs and out Wayne Jenkins' Maggie bitch she came from Mississippi but like I said Im not sure how they are bred. I think Belle is supposed to be heavy Vaughn bred that is what I was told but Im not sure Im gona send her papers off next week I will be able to tell u something after I get them back. Im well versed in Treeing Walker Breeding and English dogs thats wat ive coon hunted since I was a boy but Plots are a new Language LoL. We use pits as lead-in catch dogs. We tried some cur x hound x pit, but they stayed on injured reserve. They were half pit, I think that was a little too much. They didn't have enough bottom to stay in a long, hard race.

We got a strain of Black Mouth Curs that are plenty gritty. I want to breed one to one of our plotts. Then according to their strengths and weaknesses, go back on them with either a cur or plott from the same line.

If you got a strain that don't bay close enough, you can add some pit and they will definetly want to put their mouth on a hog.

I traded in all my cur dogs and I currently run nothing but hounds. Im catching just as many hogs with open mouth dogs as i did with the silent cur dogs. only difference is now i have dogs that I can anywhere that there is a hog and the dogs will find it. I hunted cur dogs for several years and after hunting hounds i wouldnt give you 50 cents for a cur dog of any kind. you go through too many to find one that will do the job every time you take him to the woods.
