Hurricane Hogs

James "Longshot" Reasoner and I met up again last friday for a nice morning hunt here in Lampasas. We didn't get into any size but still managed 5 pigs in about 3 hours.

First sow of the morning

Catch dogs listening for the bay

After convincing James the river was not very big or deep we finally make it to the river. When we get to the bank...that wasn't the case. The river had come down from rain further north and it was plenty wide and deep. It was an odd situation. We had three young boars scattered across the opposite bank. When the dogs hit the other bank....two of the three hogs swam right back to our side. I hunt in shorts...so I was pretty sure I was nominated to do the swimming.

Got a younger brother that lives in so east Austin 5 mins from the Airport. But he's not a hunter. I'd like to make it out there and pick up a BMC from a breeder. But I may to get one closer to California.
