12_13 boar

Sat night we made a little round and I saw the most impressive display of strike dogs I have seen in a while!

2 of JJ's dogs did awesome. When we got this boar started the bay dogs got him caught and he was squeling. I thought it was a small pig and was in no hurry leaving the bay.

Walking it Lance(denim jacket) could see the pig and he tossed all the bay dogs and ran like a spinter. Another 100yards they got him stopped and this time I sent Pickle and she swalloed the left ear and prevented any further breakNruns. I am super thrilled with her catching and holding abilty(Krystal I think she is proven now and ready to breed on the next round!)

This was the most beutiful hog I think I have caught. He has a silver face and these pics dont do him justice.

his teeth measured 3 1\3in and 3 1\2

Yes you are correct about the Bluetick......KINDA

This hog was trailed off from a windmill and only my buddies Catahoula would take the track.

He trailed for a mile almost before anyone else would go with him. (we followed on the road with the GPS)

Finally the Bluetick jumped on the track and ran ahead and struck the hog another 1\2mile.

I am not sure who I was most impressed with or what happened with the Catahula but he warmed it up for the Bluetick. I really dont care as long as they keep putting pork on the ground!!!

Nice one longshot, Id put it on the wall.
Sounds like fun, A mile and a half sounds pretty far to meour dogs are really close range compared to that. And I want to get a garmin, but most of my hunting has been done with no tracking collars.
