another Windmill hog

It is DRY DRY here. We have not had measurable rain since August of 2007. The dogs are getting used to hunting with NO moisture.

Hunting a Ranch in the Hill Country I was told by the foreman to check a windmill for hogs that had been tearing up things there. My Neighbor Tyson and I had 3 of my bay dogs on the ground at daylight and put the wind in our face and headed for the windmill.

The dogs were hunting out good when Poco tossed his nose into the air and headed away at a trot. Within a few min he opened bayed whith a deep hound chop voice. Ginger and Rocky were helping withing seconds.

They broke and ran a few hundred yards and dropped down off the steep side of the plateu into the valley. That made things much easier for us.

We drove down the road that doubled back into the valley. I rounded the corner heading towards the point of the valley when I saw the somthing I had not seen in years. "WAS I DREAMING?" There was a spring bubbling out of the rocks with a pool of water. WATER WOW I really see WATER!

The dogs had a small boar caught right in the middle of the spring and we were able to drive up to them!

My new Catchdog was doing a great job at holding tight on the ear as you can see in the pics.

Tyson got to disbatch his first pig and I think he is HOOKED!

My hunting rig in front of the valley we just came out of:

Listening for the dogs when they rolled out again and I was ready to go:
