The new trend in central california is to run short range catchy dogs now. Long range dogs get too far out for the smaller properties out here. Guys are puttin the wire hair terriers x into the mix. Some airedale catahoula crosses are stoppin some 200lb+ hogs in less than a 50 yard chase. I personally think the cross makes some of the ugliest dogs ive ever seen. STOP!! As I write this my dogs start barking and it sounds like a huge dog fight. I go in the back yard and theve stretched out about a 30+ pound opossum. There are little rat looking babies all chewed up alive and dead all scattered in the yard. Possum looks dead. I kenneled up the dogs now. Mabye the possum is playin possum. Im gonna give it a half hour and with a little luck it will all be gone. Dammit!! I checked too early. The possum was playin possum and made a run for it into my garage!!! I left the door cracked open. The babies are all still there. Now I gotta deal with it again!! Little bastard is held up behind my freezer! SOB has some big teeth! It was running behind a giant pile of crap in the garage back behind the freezer. Its leaving a trail of babies as it goes. I give up. Im tired. Its midnight. I scooped up the babies and put em in a box out by the street. Hopefully the possum will be out of the garage and the box will be empty by morning. Im going to bed.
