No Im from California where I ran everything with hide with hounds, Moved to TX about 6 years ago. I lived in Kingsport TN for 4 years, Ive been everywhere and hunted alot of everything. Not saying they are bigger and badder here in tx but Ive had to tree hang a few times when hogs rallied under my feet. Ive never ran from one, they will sure enough make you look a fool.

I live in south Arkansas and the hogs here are as big and rough as they are anywhere and i ll be damned if anyone is going to drive a ranger and lead a couple cur dogs in on a leash to one of these ole boar hogs while he just sets and waits for ya. The show is rediculous and gives a very poor presentation of what hog hunting with dogs really is. If you can watch this show and not see that, then you need an evaluation because you my fellow houndsman, with all due respect are @#$$%d up in the head.

I think a more important issue to all of us will be a major dog injury on the show. Its going to happen if these so called "professionals" keep going about their methods the way they are. One of these dogs will get killed or have the guts ripped out of it on national tv and the perspective of houndsman and hoghunting by the general public will suffer.

Injurys can and will happen. Im sure most if not every hogdogger on this site puts his or her dogs on the ground with their best judgement about how to get the job done the best and safest for our dogs. Each of our dogs fit a nich on how they will strike, bay and catch a hog as a pack. These guys on the show dont seem to know this. They are uneducated on how this process works. They dump dogs into situations where they are more likely to get a dog killed or hurt badly then to catch a hog succesfully without injury.

Id prefer to see one of "us" on the show. Somone who is educated and experienced to put their pack of dogs in the woods. Somone who will get real results and show some true houndsmanship. Id prefer to see a houndsman represent us on national tv.

The producer of the show looked for a year for "Real Hunters" to do the show. They asked many of people I personally know and they all declined because they knew what was going to happen in the public eye. It doesnt matter if there was a "real" hunter doing the show it would have the same outcome in the public eye and on forums like this. Does the show anger me, no more like humor me. Even my 8 year old daughter points out the stupid/wrong things they do. Yall act like its a hog doggin show, its not its a show to inform the regular public of an epidemic of wild hogs and the destruction they cause. Are hogs dangerous? Damn right they are. Look at the rift raft that the show Tred Barta did in south texas hog doggin years ago, there is still BS going on about that 1 episode and it was done with a REAL dog hunter. Doesnt matter who does the show, there are always people that could have done it 10 times better their way.

If you have ever hog hunted with ketch dogs or trialling them up and bay them like we do in TN you haft to look at the show as entertainment. I only seen part of one show they lead a dog rite up to a bid hog it jest stood there they turned on it then caught the dog off came back later with two dogs the hog was standing in the same place kinda like a hog in a bay pen that has seen plenty of dogs. If you noticed they lead the dogs in and out throe a gate not saying that's the case just makes you wonder. In the shoes defence they cant show nothing to graphic too many animal rights activist and tree huggers out there for the real deal . If they really want rid of those terrifying hogs (LOL) they will call some real big game houndsmen to get the job done.If they call Me and lil wasper will come but the first heard of hogs we come up on it will get to bloody for TV really quick. Have guns and dogs will travel!

Wow. Y'all crack me up. So much anger. Well here ya go. I know the guy on the show l3Outdoors that is. I'm surprised he's not on this site, he's on all the other sites. He's very pushy with his way of hunting. He won't tell you to your face but will behind your back. He does do hog hunting "for a living" but doesn't make that much money. His wife told me they use to hunt with pits and they loved them but that with the bad reputation, some land owners wouldn't have them on their property. So, to save money and supposedly kill hogs, they use a one out system. In order for Riddick to find anything it has to be short range and very fresh trail. And that dog is really weird, he's moody. I've seen him catch in a working pen and I wasn't too impressed. Can he catch a hog, yes. He's like 150lbs and taller than the hog. Does he catch as hard as a pit, not in my opinion. The hog in the pen slashed him repeatedly and if he didn't have the Australian made $200 vest he would have been cut to shreds. That's why he's a finder/holder. He doesn't catch the hog, he just kinda lays on it. Kinda hard to explain but I wouldn't run up to stab a 300 lb boar with 4 inches while he's " holding" it. I prefer my pits. To each his own though. No one can tell you that you hunt wrong bc it's your opinion. That's what hog hunting competitions are for
