He Rick I know my photography aint the best, heres two more.
Her Daddy is HUGE and is well over 100 pounds and is nothing but muscle, her dad was an import and used to hunt puma in Argentina, here he is an excellent catch dog.
Mom is lighter around 85 but she is a very good RCD.
I have seen both these parents hunt about a week ago and all his dogs hunt and often so he has got quality.
Hes even got these dogo greyhound crosses that I was going to buy, they are amazing, thin, lean, find, catch better than a dogo, and are really quick!

I am really looking foward to having her in the pack.

Shes nice! You can try her out on a shoat to see how she does, but halfbreed is right - dont let her catch anything big until she's older so her adult teeth can set in. Start working her nose now and she should be good at 1 year. We call my female " the nose " started her when she was about 4 months old, hiding biscuits and toys in the couch, then went to dragging a fresh hog skin around the yard, then to mock hunts. She no cur dog, but I can put her on a track and she'll find one.

Mtwrestler - those are the guys that have the patterdales too? california catchers? Ive heard good stuff about them. I want a patterdale :D

hey down south i don't breed em just catch with em my male is 50/50 and about 55# and my female is 3/4 ab 1/4 pit a friend gave me she's about 45# i like a smallish catch dog . of course i've had hogs run off wearing them like earrings . all my cur/hound crosses will pile on when the catch dog hits so a big size isn't really necc. i like em smaller to get a more athletic dog and they can work the thick stuff better .

This might be off topic. But how many of your guys catch dogs will or would take a hot track if given the chance. I had a pitbull you could watch her wind stuff out aways. Only reason I know is I watched her wind a deer in ND across a field. Really strong wind bu tshe pegged it. I didn't let her run it. I also had a 50 pound get out the pen she winded it and caught in some thick brush on the back of the property. She would never put nose to ground though. Only one I ever had that acted like she had a nose. Sadly no longer with us. Longer story but growled at my super hyper nephew. Then I dug the hole.

Should had told your nephew to calm down! If you ask me not worth the life of the dog but what do I know I am not quite at the age to settle down and have kids.
It pends on the dog, out catchdog is a cur and obvoiusly it will trail. And bulldogs and others can be taught to trail pending on how they are trained.

But it goes to a point, if the kid is bouncing up and down off the walls and non stop messing with the dog. Heck I would growl at him before my dog does.
Everything has toleration, but even sometimes a dog has its limits.

If the dog growled just a simple grrrr than ok if you killed the dog over that then that just aint right

if the dog was god darn snarlin at the kid teeth bared foaming at the mouth different story.

As to the catchdog question, dogos wind great, bulldogs and pits may if taught too.

If you want a catchdog to trail cross a bulldog breed with a hound or cur.

In my house a kid especially a pitbull better take everything a kid under 10 can dish out. If they can't I really doubt they could handle a poke from a cutter. Just my opinion. But at the same point that dog had tried me a couple times. I let chances happen because I saved her from a bad situation. She just never mentally recovered. That was just the straw that broke the camels back. Not a chance I am willing to take. If you are well more power to you. Bet you never seen a pretty little girls face completely destroyed because someone was willing to take a chance. I have and that girls face even after hundreds of thousands of dollars of reconstructrive surgery will never look better than a puzzle gone wrong. Problem with pitbulls (my fav breed) to many people have them. Dont care how they are. If you read no matter what a pitbull should never be human aggressive. I will put down everyone that shows ANY aggression to any child. If I didn't I couldn't live with my self.
