I have an uncle who has been putting in for a long time for a big horn sheep hunt in Colorado. You never know though, your number might just get drawn.
I have a similar story to yours on getting permission to hunt on property. Older farmer was on the side of the road late one night with a load of corn I do believe. I pulled over to make sure he was okay cause he looked hunched over in the seat. He was just trying to make a phone call, but his phone didnt work and I let him use mine. He told me to come down to his place and I could hunt on his property whenever I wanted. Pretty good deal. You feel good helping somebody out and you luck and get something in return for it.

Do you know much about the Walton area? A guy that works for my dad lives in Owenton and I hope to be able to hunt there some.

Good luck with the retirement to Maine! Sounds like you will have a lot of fun up there.
