Look at the yellow vest in the pics of this thread:

That is my new vest that is 1 layer cordura(yellow, my choice), 1layer woven kevlar backed with thin felt, 1layer true ballistic nylon inside liner.

It was made for me my
It is my vest of choice but hasnt been on enough BAD BOYS to be tried and true.

My old vests are P&P made by Larry Paris in Oklahoma they are 4layers ballistic nylon. A bit thick but even my 5year old vests are still good with NO cuts all the way through.

Here is a P&P:

I also have a old BAYHEAD vest made in Winter Haven, FL and it is very flexiable and looks like swiss cheese now but it has never let a dog get cut even though lots of cuts when through all 3 layers of cordura. I mainly rexerve it for when I run a bay dog in a pen.

Krystal at Uglydog ranch sells a wide variety of vests including the P&P vests

take them to a shop and have them sew some thin leather or some type of material like that on the inside of the leg holes this will take care of most of the problem i like kangaroo leather it is tough yet works well it is soft and thin it only cost me about 10 dollars per vest and last for years it is well worth it any type of thin leather will work well
good luck

BTPP,
The catch dog I lost was wearing a vest and didnt have a scratch on her body but I could see her tongue was cut and from somewhere inside her mouth is where all the blood was pouring from.

It was one of those freak deals that shouldnt have happen and I cut her loose from further out than I normally do becuase a dumb bulldog got lost earlier and I thought he was already there and I turned her loose to give him some back up. Turns out he never showed and she was left holding him alone till I could make it. I know it was only a few min but a few seconds can be a lifetime to a catchdog on a bad hog.

The vest did it's job. I just didnt do mine fast enough! I Thought I was helping that Bulldog I didnt know I was going to be killing my Dogo gyp  She is the white dog I posted in the pic above tied with a Pit gyp.

The vest that DWD posted is a P&P vest sold from Uglydogranch but made by Larry Paris if my memory serves me correct.

I have tried alot of different cut vest over the years. Larry Parish vest will by far out last any vest on the market although they are stiff after getting wet a few hundred times. I like the razorback vest with the collar attached to the vest but they get torn up fairly quickly. Good part about that is razorback will repair them if you send them back.
Every vest I have ever used has galled the dogs under the front legs and slowed the dogs down. Galled legs are cheaper to fix than trips to the vet for cuts. 8)
