Pictures of some hogs we have bayed and caught in Missouri using Hounds, Curs, Cur Hound Crosses, and Ridgebacks. Top picture is of one the worse boars we have ever dealt with he is still alive today as far as i know. Dogs in the photo are Sammie a Treeing Walker, Jar 3/4 BMC 1/4 Plott, Abby and Sampson Ridgebacks, Jack 1/2 BMC 1/4 Ridgeback 1/8 Plot 1/8 Mt.Cur, Belle a Plott and Jed a Salty Dawg Catahoula. We didnt have a gun with us he killed some dogs cut every dog we had there he was about 225 pounds he finally whipped out all the dogs after dark but my Walker bitch Sammie, my Plott bitch Belle and Zack's old Jar dog. Belle was only about 9 months old at that time. We caught them as he crossed a fire road running him by sight about midnight. This was December of 2007.
The second photo is of a 275 pound barr hog we caught and hobbled on the 23rd of January 2010. Bunch of Zack and Trey's young dogs and Joel's Chief dog bayed him up the young dogs are Cur Hound crosses, Chief is 7/8 BMC 1/8 Plott. Joel's old Bush dog and Trey's Bruiser dog caught him Zack legged him Joel flipped him and Corey hobbled him. We caught and tied a 175 pound sow and a 80 pound gilt the same day. Jar and Belle were bayed up for 5 hours on a big bunch of hogs when got to them they broke Jar grabbed that young gilt as she ran by, Belle ran in and grabbed it to this was 9:30 pm it was a rough hunt cause of blowed down timber. Bush was half BMC and half Pit, Bruiser was an American Bulldog they both got killed on a Texas trip this March both had vest and cut collars on it was a bad deal the boar cut through the vest like butter on Bush. Bruiser got it up under his cut collar but thats another story.
The bottom picture is of the biggest boar we have killed he weighed 425 pounds I shot him with my pistol December of 2007. We caught tied a 285 pound boar, 250 pound sow, and a 30 pound boar shoat the same day. Im in the back wearing the black coat, Brent is on the far right, Zack is the one sitting on it, and the other two is the guy that took us on private ground and his grandson. Same dogs were used on this hunt as in the top photo with the exception of Brent's Katie she is a litter mate to the Jack dog in the photo and Justin's American Bulldog Buster.
Have intended to post some pics for along time not very computer savy finally learned how to do it LOL hope ya'll like the pics and storys.Good hunting.
