white dogs

Had a friend of mine say he always picks the white pup out of a litter of crossed up dogs and they always turn out great, says his grandpa said the dogs are a throw back to the walker and birddogs that were crossed into the line and theres usually one white pup in the litter that stands out. Don't know if theres any truth to it has anyone ever heard of this.

just as real as wearing the same socks for every baseball game. what i mean by that is people have a firm conviction about something & put more effort into that conviction. they will work harder to properly finish the dogs they believe in but maybe not so much the dogs they don't.

He's got a gyp thats a jam up strike dogs part cur and part hound, she turned out long range, silent, gritty strike dog. She was the only white pup in the litter. Got another friend of mine picked a mostly white leopard pup out of the litter and she's the same way, one of the best hunting leopards I've ever seen. Didn't know if anyone had ever heard of this from any old timers or not.

I guess it is possible that a white dog could be a throwback to a pointer or walker from way back and carry similar traits. I would like to see what a geneticist or scientist had to say about it.
