You never know stranger things have happened. Could have a good one in the litter that might make a dog. However the chances are pretty slim. If I was looking for a pup to start on hogs I would certainly pass on taking a pup. Everything is stacked against the odds of these dogs becoming a dog that will find, bay or catch better than anything that was meant to do it.

the female was supposed to be bred to another wiemer, but 'ol brown' got lucky through the fence. i think he bred a black and tan hound through the fence in the next stall as well. haha maybe theyll be good for something.

If the dam is from hunting line instead of show lines you might have something, most labs have a good enough nose, and one of the hardest catch dogs I have ever seen was a black lab. The wiems I've seen had plenty of nose and interest in the trail, I thought they were a little light in the grit department, but the lab and pit might give the pups that. If I needed a dog I'd give them try, if not I'd offer them to anyone that wanted them for free or else put them down. JMO and propably worth what you paid for it.

You never know what they will do. I've several "yard dogs" that would bay hogs....I've also had and eliminated dogs that were bred for baying that never would. If you have a lot of hogs in your area and they get exposed to hogs eraly and often, they may make something. Personally, I dont look for nor do I want accidents, when I get a pup, I'm looking for specific dogs in the bloodline...or I have to really know the sire and dam.
