Bird dog crosses

Postby Idcurs » Fri Aug 02, 2013 5:50 pm

For any of you guys that have hunted bird dog crosses are they mostly silent? What was the cross. How is their speed and grit?I have seen a english pointer in the Davis Mnts. catch his own deer.He was ranch raised and could flat fly on a hot deer track.

Back when I was hog hunting we used a lot of different bird dog crosses. Most were dead silent on track
Here are some of the crosses we used
pointer X pit good bay would catch hogs under 100lbs
pointer x black mouth cur jam up trail dogs good bay dogs
GSP x 1/2 cur 1/2 bluetick good long range trail dogs
bullcat x GSP medium range trail dogs that will catch
