No Teeth, No Problem.....right?

DC and I dropped South for a hunt and got out of the rocks for a change. The brush was much thicker and thorny!

About 15min into the morning hunt the bay dogs steam rolled a good sow that made for a first quick hog.

Then we set out for a few hours of walking and roading with NO sign of hogs.

After a short brake (The Denniss had to leave for work) the land owner and I changed locations and tried again.

After 20min or so we were about done with Ginger left out on the GPS and hit somthing around 800yards out. We drove there on the mule and she traveled about a mile on the GPS and then set up bayed.

From 350yards I turned Twinkle and Poco to her and walked the catchdogs in.

I went to them and from 10yards(couldnt see a thing) cut Pickle out. She went through the brush like a wedge.

I got there to see the hog blow out of a brush pile into a small opening. Pickle had swallowed the ear and was getting bucked but holding tight. She set back and anchored him very well.

Babe my new catchdog was getting in the action so I put her on the other ear. That is when I noticed Poco was not holding becuase his leg was bleeding very bad.

when I saw that the fun was over. I made quick work of the hog and focused on Poco. It took a while (I need a new hunting shirt) but I got the bleeding stopped. Carried him back to the mule and got him sewn up. He should be ready for the woods again in no time.

He was like a 150lb hog on a 120lb frame....LOL These hogs dine out of the Creep feeder for the calfs. I guess that is why he was so healthy!

The hog didnt have any teeth so I wasnt expecting any damage but I guess Poco was thinking the same thing.....LOL

Hoghunting is a little like bullriding, Its not if u get hurt but when.
Nic Pics. & glad to see the dog will be allright. U never know when u cut a catchdog loose if u will get him back alive or not but that is all part of it.
What kind of breeding does Ginger have?

Those are the wrecking type for sure. They look sweet, but they ain't. Hope the dog heals quick for ya'.

Ginger is out of a long range line of cur dogs and a accidental breeding to a pit.

She will stop one but doesnt catch. she is a good bay dog.
