Great hog there. What state do you run in?

I've shot 86 hogs so far but I've never broken that 400lb mark. That is one big pig!

Me and my friend went to this alfalfa patch that a rancher owned in monterey county. Was couple hundred acres and a dence river bed bordering it. We showed up and it was getting dark so we were in a hurry. We got out of the truck and let the dogs out so they could shit and piss. We had 5 dogs. 4 strike dogs and one catch. As we were gearing up I told my friend we werent gonna be able to hear the dogs If they bayed cause the coyotes were making such a racket. We geared up and started to walk. The dogs had already split so I thought we screwed up the whole thing cause I had no idea which way they went. We stood there for 15 minutes or better listening to coyotes. We kept thinking we could hear some dogs barking but the sound was drowned out by the yotes. We walked the edge of the alfafa patch next to the river while arguing with eachother over what direction we thought the dogs went. (i was wrong). As we walked the coyotes got louder and we could hear our dogs through the noise. We went over the levee and they were barking solid. I dumped the catch dog and it didnt really wanna go on account he was coyote broke and thought he might get a whoopin. He eventually lined out and we narrowed the gap. The dogs cought him in a bald spot between some brush and as we approached there was a scatter of coyotes that had joined in the fight. When we got there there the hog was sitting down trying to wipe the catch dog off his balls in the dirt . All the bay dogs were backed up hollering and a few coyotes were watching it all go down cackling. The shot was easy. that catchdog had him by the nuts and he wasnt moving. Took almost all night to four wheel back there and get him in the truck. Just getting in the truck took over an hour. The dogs got off easy. Catch dog had a little scrape and so did a strike dog. Thats a monster for down there, my hats off to ya, I love them spotted hogs. I've been huntin down in Carmel, you boys have a bunch of hogs down there! Nice hog!!!

Thats a great pig!I've only pig hunted in Missouri,never caught anything over 170 lbs.

The catchdog was lucky. He didnt always get the nuts. Believe it or not he was pretty good eating. Sausaged 90% of em, ate the loins and smoked one ham. Theres an area in monterey county where all these big boys live. Its no problem getting access but the brush is nasty and goes for miles. There are monsters in there. Ive bayed a few but only cought that one.

Pigs scare me, you are far braver then me lol... I don't like the taste of ham and bacon to get that close to one..
