Where's the pigs?

Postby oregonhillbilly » Thu Mar 26, 2009 2:00 am

Alright now I have spoken to everyone who is some sort of official in Oregon, that has to do with fish and wildlife, about these awfull land raping ferile swine and nobody has a straight forward answer. NO SURPRISE THERE!! These types usaully don't have a straight forward answer to anything with the acception of $$$.
So I'm leaving it to you guys to give me a clue as to weather these pigs really do exist here in Oregon and where? I'm not asking you to let me in on your sweet-spot. I just want to know where a guy can go and do some scouting on his own and hopefully poke one of these elusive creatures with an arrow.
Any help would be more then a guy can get from the village idiots in charge at ODFW.
Thanks,
Chuck

I posted an article that ran in our local paper in the "Oregon hogs" thread. But in that article it claims there have been sightings of them in Madras and Antelope.

Thanks for the reply Bearsmom,I will have to take a closer look around that area and see if I can find any of these pigs. I do know that most of the area you are speaking of is owned by ranchers and they have gotten real comfortable with FEE Hunting and these days money is tight. There is always a little public access in and around areas such as this though. So I will have to do my homework.

If you drive south about 500-800 miles you can find all you can kill.

That would be great liveto hunt, but not really feasable.Although I too live to hunt,I really can't see driving that far and spending that much money to kill a pig or anything else for that matter.Well maybe I would if you told me of a place where the Bobcats run in herds and my dogs would kill over from exhaustion after treeing 20 of them a day. LOL now that would be worth the trip!

Me to if you find that spot let me know.
As for the pigs there is more then our share around here with the price of a pig tag at $20 now I think the numbers are going to get even higher....
