Well it is the last weekend of archery deer season here. Things have been kinda slow but Nick was able to get one yesterday.. He used my bloodhound Annabelle to help recover it. They trailed it yesterday, but as it was shot late in the afternoon, it got dark and he pulled her off of it. They went back out late this morning to see if they couldn't find it. He said without her, it would have taken him much much longer to find it or he might not have found it at all. It was still barely alive and moving very slowly. Annabelle trailed her way to it fairly easy. This is her second season on trailing wounded deer and elk. She seems to be getting it down rather well.
First Recovery of the year.
