Zman, those are both nice looking teams. What all to you do with them? It sounds like you do some logging. Nice horses, Guy

My wife and I farmed with are horses. We raised Percheron's for about ten yrs, but our main income was from raising Russian boars for game farms in the upper midwest
until the states started to shut down a lot of the game farms. In the winter months used are horses for logging. We retired a year ago and sold the farm now everyday is saturday!!! Are last team of horses were sold last week to a horse logger from Wisc. I've included a pic of the Mares with a sleigh gathering maple sap in the spring.

It ranks right up there with watching and listening to a good hound work. IMO it just get any better than that.

We love our Draft mules we ride them and they hold up so nice even when we put portly unbalanced inexperienced riders on them. we have a nice percheron mare we use to make nice mules. a great resource for draft critter enthusiastsb is the Rural Heritage Magazine and website We have are real nice team of Belgian mules we have used to wagaon things inbehind gates and also to build camps skidding logs for frames and even back country firewood

I have several friends that are still raising purebred drafts. What breed are you looking for? PM me with phone number if you like and I will call and visit with you. Thanks, Guy
