tack and gear
Re: tack and gear
Hey glad to see you on here! Blankets are a advertisers dream they can picture them however they want and then write the same way. I'd be embarrassed to admit how many have ended up as dog house liners around here its a fine line on blankets and one that's real important you see slab sided blankets that won't conform no matter what then on the other end you get performed blankets that don't fit anything. Then durability is always a question too. Why its so hard for them to sew a heavy canvas or duck outer to them ill never know. So robin have you seen a design tweak or idea that really made sense?

Dang, I'm able to log in twice in a row
maybe what was broke aint broke no more.
I've been listening here for along while, to bad for you guys, I can talk now
Thanks for the info Von, like your tent also.
I know your frustration on pads & blankets. I've had customers complain of tree fit when it turns out they've used a preformed neopren pad and frosted the horses withers. Those pads are for arena's only in my book. I use a single 8 kilo wool pad doubled for most rides with my trees. For long very hard rides I'll slide a single thin high quaility wool under that. Pendleton made those singles for a few years and I have two of them.
I prefure to pad a little on the lite side and pay real close attention to how the horse is doing with it. Heavy padding can fill the area under the bars and cause your saddle to rock more, compounding tree fit problems. Way better to have a good fiting tree to start with and pad just enough to disipate any heat for the job at hand.
I have found a good saddle bag design that is pretty easy to repair but I've never had to. I'll see if I can hunt up a photo and post it.
